Wedding Wednesday: Planning A Bridal Shower

Well, it's officially wedding season. Whether your best friend is newly engaged, or you're the maid of honor in charge of hosting showers and parties... this little guide may help you to plan a bridal shower that the bride-to-be will never forget. 

I planned and hosted a bridal shower for a friend last year and have been asked about details many times, so here is your guide!

For the shower, I rented all of the linens, tables, chairs, place settings, and umbrellas from Island Party Rentals in Stuart, Florida. After spending hours scouring Pinterest for ideas, myself and two other bridesmaids decided that we would stick with blush, white and gold as the theme. Having all pink table cloths seemed a little baby shower-ish. We still wanted to incorporate the light pink and it just made perfect sense to do that with runners. It was just enough of a pop of color, but kept things very simple. 

Next was the fun (and extremely messy) part, glittering the champagne bottles. We found this idea on Pinterest here and the backyard looked like a snow storm when we were finished. [Disclaimer: using spray adhesive and clear spray paint was a DISASTER. Make sure you do this outside.] We found the straws at Matilda's in Downtown Stuart, but you can also find them here at Target. 

The glittery champagne bottles and unique mugs were the favors for the guests. We found white mugs at Home Goods and bought 40 of them. Each one was unique which was a really fun aspect, so each lady's favor was a little different. We used gold and pink Sharpies for the lettering, set the oven to 400 degrees and baked them for 30 minutes. Wa-la. Party favors that last and remind you of a lovely day!

One of my most frequently asked questions I'm asked is who catered the party. Instead of doing the usual quiches and breakfast pastries, I found a local caterer that set up an omelet bar.  He brought a full spread of toppings including shrimp, 3 types of cheese, bacon, and tons of vegetables! Brian at Cuisine 256 was who we chose, and it was absolutely perfect. 

Harbour Bay Florist arranged the floral centerpieces, and to keep with the color scheme we chose hydrangea, lilies, and pink roses. The ladies at Harbour Bay took care of the rest and guests loved being able to bring such beautiful arrangements home!
