Summer Style Staple: White Dresses

 SHOP THE POST

For summer, dressing in white just seems to make sense. It's pretty, it's cooler and doesn't attract heat like darker colors, and I always feel put together in all white. While in the Hamptons for the past week, I realized that everyday I was wearing white on some article of my clothing. After these pictures, I was reminded why someone as clumsy as I am should steer clear of all white... More on that later!

While temperatures back home in Florida were soaring into the 90's, frolicking around in the Westhampton Beach in this little number is exactly what I had on my agenda for the 4th of July weekend. The open back lace details and flowy skirt of the dress made me almost a little chilly as our temperatures were barely reaching 80 #shamelessfloridian. Being used to the heat, anything below 83 degrees seems chilly, so this dress is going to make summer back home in Florida a little more bearable.

Speaking of wearing all white in summer, there's a funny story to these photos. Right before we went out back to shoot these, Sean's family came home from the best little bakery on Main Street with pastries and coffee. Me being the coffee addict that I am, I just had to drink some before taking pictures. Well sure enough, the lid was full of coffee and went riiight down the front of my dress. Not sure how the camera managed to miss that, but I'm happy it did! 😬

I always seem to wear white to BBQs as well and can't seem to walk away without some barbeque sauce wounds on my white pants. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Summer is for wearing white no matter what for me!

Also, if you've been looking to snag a super cute and comfy pair of flatforms for summer, the ones I'm wearing (linked above in the widget) are marked down! I talked about how comfortable they are here and am honestly considering getting this pair too!

I hope everyone had an amazing holiday weekend, remember to thank the men and women who protect our freedoms and keep us safe when you see them!
