Wedding Guest Dresses Under $200

Wedding guest dresses under $200.
It's no surprise that wedding season is upon us. The save-the-dates are flowing in one by one, and as each invite arrives, I know you're already thinking, "what on earth am I going to wear?!" After going to 7+ weddings in the last 2 years, attending everything from a white tie wedding to a semi-formal beach wedding and consulting brides of all types, I've rounded up my favorite options to be the best-dressed guest. Better yet, they're all under $200!

Little Linen Dress with Pom Poms

This past weekend in Philly was gorgeous. We spent the weekend on foot walking around the city, looking for all of the best places it has to offer! I had been to Philly a few times but had never had an authentic Philly cheesesteak and we finally checked that one off the list Saturday afternoon.

Tulips & a Shopbop Sale Favorite

Spring in Philadelphia is seriously so magical. A handful of the streets in our little neighborhood are lined with blooming cherry blossom trees, and the parks and businesses are lined with tulips. With temperatures in the high 60's, its been so nice to walk around and explore everything around us!

The Telluride Tour Guide

What do to in Telluride, Colorado
For the past few weeks, since we've been home from our vacation in Telluride, I keep looking at Sean saying, "can we go back now?! It was the best vacation of my life" or, "I really could go for a glass of rosé at Bon Vivant". Even the littlest experiences like a little apres ski added up to it being the trip of a lifetime. After living like a local (which is truly the best way to vacation) for a week, I definitely fell in love with Telluride (if you can't tell), and am already making plans to get back earlier next winter!

Pausing...

A few not-so-secret secrets for everyone joining me here today.
  1. It's bee a little while since I've gotten a post up... oops!
  2. We're going to be pausing our regularly scheduled programming for a major move. I haven't started packing... and I need to turn off from the world & get that s#*t  done.
  3. I manage to get stains on me CONSTANTLY, but I won't give up on you white jeans... no, I won't! Please excuse whatever I shoved my knee into (assuming my still dirty, snow residue covered car).

Basket Bags & Stripes

Red ruffle sleeve top with white jeans.
We've all been stuck wearing sweaters and coats for so long, that I'm basically at the point where I'm refusing to wear anything associated with winter anymore. Thankfully, really great spring tops & shoes are finally coming out and the trends are right up my alley!

Cult Gaia ark bag styled casual.

Spring style in Minneapolis on a young woman.

Club Monaco ruffle top with white Citizens of Humanity jeans.

Red is going to be a major color going into spring and summer, trust me. With everyone loving really feminine details (like ruffles), as well as embroidery and tassels/pom poms, red is an easy way to add a bold pop of color to pieces.

Sometimes red is hard to wear. If you're on the fair side like I am, try wearing blue based reds to help not wash you out. I stick to the same rules with lipsticks! If you're on the more olive or tan side, warmer reds are going to be best. Next time you're shopping, expiriment between the two to find your best shade.

I'm also 110% obsessed with this basket bag. I had seen it on some of my favorite bloggers like Katey from Chronicles of Frivolity, Jacey from Damsel in Dior, and Julia from Gal Meets Glam and knew I had to have it. Take a look at the different ways that the gals and myself styled it. They're all SO different! I think it will definitely be my favorite bag for the spring & summer.

On a more personal note, we signed our lease for our apartment in Philadelphia today! I'm so excited & can't wait to finally share pictures with you once we get there.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Suede for Spring & Some Big News!

I think the last week in Telluride was one of the best weeks of my life. We got some pretty shocking news two days before we left (more on that in a few), so 5 days of unwinding in the mountains are just what this girl needed. If you've kept up with me on Insta stories or Snapchat (username is samanthaakellyy), you know how magical of a place Telluride is.

Packing for Colorado

Packing is one of those funny things that's so much fun to do, but also SO stressful. Like... will i forget my toothbrush? do I have enough pairs of panties - do I even have panties?!?! Yep, forgot those once.

I can't wait to leave Sunday! I mean, y'all have heard about this trip for a few weeks now so I've certainly built up my anticipation for vacation. I've never skied, so I'm probably over packing. Better to have too much than not enough in my opinion though!

Hunter Boots for a Snow Day

Hunter boots in the snow on young woman.
Well spring has this funny habit of sometimes raining, sometimes snowing, and sometimes its the sunniest and prettiest 60 degree day ever. Last week, we picked snow... It wasn't that cold, so I threw on my new raincoat from Zara & my Hunter boots and left the parka at home!

20 Minute Make-Up Routine

20 minute make-up routine products.

Time is without a doubt of the essence in the mornings when getting ready for work for me. From the time I wake up to the time I'm out the door, it's about an hour all said and done. That being said, I've gotten my daily make-up routine (when I personally feel my best without being "prom ready") down to twenty (yes, 2-0) minutes!

I'll link & give you colors of all of my daily products below!

Springing for Jackets

Best light weight jacket for transitioning into spring.
If you're following along with me on Instagram, you've seen me post about a dozen times recently that Minneapolis is having the best winter ever (quite frankly, I wouldn't even consider the past few weeks winter)! I've been able to hang up the parka & bust out some of my favorite lighter jackets, finally!

Cozy Travel Style

As of today, we're only 15 days away from leaving for Telluride! That snuck up on me SO fast!  I've never been to Telluride, let alone Colorado so if any of you have gone, please send me your restaurant/brewery/coffee shop recommendations. Being comfortable while traveling is my #1 priority, as well as being able to slide through TSA effortlessly. This is my tried and true travel outfit, and I'll tell ya why.

Insta Round-Up vol. 1

headboard | plaid shirt (similar) | coffee mug

Happy Monday y'all! I bet we all wish we were still hanging out in bed, drinking coffee and nose deep in a good book. I know I sure wish I was! My best friend Jordan came to see me in Minneapolis for the long weekend, and I SO enjoyed being off the radar a bit. Today, we're keeping the blogging quick & easy with a little Instagram round-up from the past couple weeks! Some things I couldn't link, so if you have a question don't hesitate to comment on Instagram or email me! I'd be happy to answer 😘

Keeping Warm During Winter

One upon a time (more specifically Wednesday of last week), it was negative 17° out. Ouch. Of course, the inner blogger in me thought, "what a perfect time to shoot my big ole' parka"! I know that so many of you are headed to the snow, so I'm here to round up how I stay warm when it's freezing.

Valentines Day Cookie Recipe

Valentines Day sugar cookie recipe.
Sweet treats are one of my favorite things to make. Don't get me wrong, I'm a girl who loves a good casserole (or hot dish as they call it around here, hmm), but treats are perfect for so many things. They're the perfect way to say "welcome to the neighborhood", an always appreciated birthday surprise, or just a way to say "I'm thinking about you".

Springing for Off The Shoulder

Young woman in blue off the shoulder top and white jeans.
If you opened up my closet doors right now, I'll tell you what you'd see. You'd see a tons of pink, blue, white, and black. You'd see that 70% of my closet is still "summer" clothes, and you'd see tons of off the shoulder pieces. Andddd you might also see the disheveled mess of shoes that make my closet floor almost impassible #oops. I wasn't sure if the off the shoulder trend was here to stick around for a while, but I'm sure glad it is.

Vested Interest

Winter white and neutral outfit on young woman.
Throwback to a few months ago on my first shopping excursion as a Club Monaco employee... I came across this pretty little vest. My boss had the black, and I actually didn't have a black vest & was about to pull the trigger on it but someone last minute convinced me to try on the Ivory - SOLD.

Winter Leather Shoe Care

Taking care of leather shoes in the winter.
Investing in a pair of shoes that will last you for years always temporarily breaks the bank, but when you go to put them on a few years from now and they still look great (thanks to quality & care), you'll thank yourself. I've learned my lesson after a few investment purchases that I didn't take care of properly, and I've learned the hard way #RIPFavoriteLeatherSandals.

Casual Cashmere

Breaking rules are something I love doing. Remember when your friends told you in middle & high school that you couldn't wear black and brown together? Well, they were wrong. Wearing black and brown is actually one of my favorite looks, it breaks up the other options (like wearing white or gray), and always looks put together!

Ruffled Sleeves

Half the fun of moving to new cities is exploring with locals! I spent the other morning running around the North Loop of Minneapolis with Tannis (who also kindly shot these photos for me). We had SO much fun. We froze our asses off #noshame, had such good breakfast pastries at Spyhouse, and got some great pictures for both of our blogs!

Year Round Reds

Tan peacoat with red mini skirt on young adult woman.
For some reason, I feel like we get really caught up in the idea that wearing red is only meant for Christmas and patriotic holidays. Red is without a doubt one of my favorite colors and I always feel so feminine in it too.

Sunny snow days are the best days. It's funny, after a few months of living in Minneapolis and it being -35 degrees, 30 and sunny almost starts to feel like spring! Haha.

Saying Goodbye to 2016

Oh, 2016... In only 365 days, so much changed.

2016 held such major milestones for me personally and professionally. Between finishing my senior year at FAU and graduating, to quite literally moving across the country, I'm going to recap some of my favorite moments with you all!
