Cozy Travel Style

As of today, we're only 15 days away from leaving for Telluride! That snuck up on me SO fast!  I've never been to Telluride, let alone Colorado so if any of you have gone, please send me your restaurant/brewery/coffee shop recommendations. Being comfortable while traveling is my #1 priority, as well as being able to slide through TSA effortlessly. This is my tried and true travel outfit, and I'll tell ya why.

First things first, traveling with any sort of cape/poncho/snuggly sweaterlike outerwear is genius. A few reasons why: I usually make mine pull double duty as something to keep me warm AND a pillow. I never know if I'm going to freeze or die of heat stroke on a plane, so having something you can throw on and off is step 1 to successful travel.

Next, I always travel in darker denim or black leggings. I can't tell you how gross airplane seats are, but we won't get into that. Even if I'm traveling somewhere warm I'll always wear pants, so that's another tip for travel style. Invest in a stretchier, really comfy pair of jeans and always wear them when you fly.

Last, I personally choose to travel in an espadrille, slide, or easy-on-and-off sneaker. It makes yours (and everybody else's) TSA experience much better! Being able to kick off your shoes, throw your arms up in the scanner, and be out in a few minutes at the checkpoint is ideal. Plus, who doesn't love a good pair of slides?! I wear mine on days off like it's my duty to society.

Sadly, my specific suitcase isn't online anywhere. It's DVF if you can find it on Poshmark or Ebay, but there's a new version from London Fog on Macy's website. I somehow scored mine at my local TJ Maxx, so keep your eyes peeled! Good luggage is definitely worth the investment.

I'll be rounding up what I'm packing to head west next week on the blog! Stay tuned 😘
