Suede for Spring & Some Big News!

I think the last week in Telluride was one of the best weeks of my life. We got some pretty shocking news two days before we left (more on that in a few), so 5 days of unwinding in the mountains are just what this girl needed. If you've kept up with me on Insta stories or Snapchat (username is samanthaakellyy), you know how magical of a place Telluride is.

I'm really lucky to work for Club Monaco (hello AMAZING discounts), and couldn't have picked a better brand that fits my style. I'm doing my best to branch out & go back to a more diversified wardrobe (it's so easy to get caught up in wearing what you see every day) and thankfully being at the Mall of America 5 days a week makes that easy.

Before the trip, I knew I wanted some season transitional pieces for Colorado because it wasn't going to be that cold, but also didn't want to spend a ton of money on things I may only wear a few times! I picked up this suede top from Zara and knew it'd be perfect for the trip. What I wear always ends up being inspired by my surroundings. Suede for some reason strikes me as an earthier texture, so this top was perfect.

Speaking of surroundings, we have SO much catching up to do!

Let's chat about Telluride first. It's a hike to get out there, even from the Midwest! I'm going to do a full post on my favorite things to do, restaurants, bars, etc. - but I'll give you a SparkNotes version of the trip.
  1. For a girl that's never seen the mountains, I was in awe. I've been all over Mexico, the Bahamas, and the East Coast, but had never been to the mountains or even Colorado for that matter. Even if you pick a different mountain town to visit besides Telluride, make sure to put somewhere out West high on your list.
  2. Skiing is no joke! My legs are covered in bruises, but I've never had so much fun or laughed so hard at my clumsiness. There were times I would end up spun around, head first down a ski run with a ski popped off, on my back with a pile of snow down my vest! My first ski trip definitely taught me how to laugh (and drink) off the falls.
  3. If you can find a small, local event going on whenever you're traveling, go! We spontaneously booked tickets to a concert in what used to be an early 1900's Opera House and it really made the end of our trip!
Keep your eyes peeled for a more in-depth post about the trip later this week! I can't wait to share all of the details.

Back to what I said earlier about how we got some major news before we left for the trip... Thursday afternoon, I got a phone call from Sean at about 4:30 and the words out of his mouth were, "we've had a change in plans". Uhh... Huh?

Let's rewind about 6 months ago to moving to Minneapolis. We initially moved here for Sean's job. His company is headquartered out of Minneapolis, and I had just graduated college so I decided to embrace the huge change. So, SURPRISE! We're moving again! This time back to the East Coast - Philadelphia more specifically.

We're currently looking for places in Philly, so if you know of any great spots or know of friends that live there and might have some great info, send them my way! I don't know much, except that I want to live in the city.

I'm excited to get back to the East Coast, but this came completely as a surprise so I'm REALLY unprepared (unlike when we were moving to Mpls). Time to get our lives together in just a few short weeks!

Thanks for reading along! I'll keep y'all in the loop as things start to happen!
